Intel Launches 12th Generation processors and 3rd Generation Evo
Intel is again kicking off the Indonesian technology market. On Wednesday (05/25/2022), IDN Times had the opportunity to witness the launch of 12th generation core processors and 3rd generation Evo by Intel.
In addition to the latest processors, Intel also announced a line of laptops that carry the latest processors. What are the features? Let’s look at the full facts!
1. Features of 12th generation Intel processors
Intel claims this 12th generation processor is the first processor produced with Intel 7 technology and the latest performance hybrid architecture. As a result, processor performance is greater and more efficient in handling workloads. Some of the flagship features of this processor called Alder Lake are:
- DDR5/LPDDR5 and DDR4/LPDDR4 module memory support up to 4800 MT/s.
- Using integrated Intel Wi-Fi 6E (Gig+) to give users the freedom to work and learn from home and relax with seamless, high-quality streaming. As a result, wireless connectivity is 3 times faster than its predecessor Wi-Fi.
- Supports Thunderbolt 4 technology, providing data transfer rates of up to 40Gb/s and PC connectivity to multiple 4K resolution monitors and various other accessories.
This 12th generation processor is divided into four series, namely the P, U, H, and HX series. What is offered?
2. Latest P and U Series in Gen 12
In this launch, Intel also introduced two new processor lines, namely the U and P series.
In addition to 20 threads, the P series has 14 cores divided into 6 performance cores (up to 4.8 GHz) and 8 efficient cores (up to 3.6 GHz). As a result, the overall performance of this P series processor is 20 percent faster in its class. Equipped with integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics, the P series carries a 28W base power, suitable for high-performance thin-and-light laptops.
What about the U series? The U series processor has 12 threads and carries a formation of 10 cores (2 performance cores up to 4.8 GHz and 8 efficient cores up to 3.6 GHz). Although less than the P series, the U series processor is equipped with base power from 9 to 15W, suitable for laptops that are also thin-and-light.
3. H and HX series performance
It is incomplete to announce the latest generation of Intel without the presence of the H series, which this time represented the Intel Core i9-12900HK. Armed with 14 cores and 20 threads, the H series is a combination of performance (P cores up to 5 GHz) and efficient (E cores up to 3.8GHz), making it the best platform for gaming and for content creators.
As “the fastest processor ever created both single and multi threaded”, Intel reveals its secret, namely Intel Thread Director. With this feature, the processor intelligently prioritizes workloads and distributes them to cores that are optimal for the task. Powered by base power up to 45W, the H series performance is 40 percent faster in its class.
Accompanying the H series, Intel also launched the 12th generation HX series. Made from silicon processor equivalent for desktops, the HX series is optimal for heavy workloads, from design to gaming. In fact, for games like Far Cry 6 or Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, the HX series is still capable of boosting 128 frames-per-second (fps) to 472 fps.
Unlike other series, HX series processors are equipped with 16 cores (8 P-cores to 5 GHz and 8 E-cores up to 3.6 GHz) and 24 threads and are powered by 55W base power. Intel said that the HX series will be present in Indonesia starting in the 2nd quarter of 2022.
4. 3rd edition of Intel Evo, what’s new?
On this occasion, Intel also launched the 3rd edition intel Evo design as well as the latest. With Intel Evo certification, laptops are guaranteed to be able to run the most intensive workloads, of course with the help of various Intel Gen processors. 12 and Wi-Fi 6E (Gig+). The performance standards guaranteed by Intel Evo are:
- Intelligent collaboration (4 latest technologies for more reliable video conferencing)
- Responsive (25 tasks can be opened simultaneously)
- Battery life of more than 9 hours
- Instant wake system (less than 1 second)
- Fast charging (4 hours of power in just 30 minutes of charging)
- Dynamic background noise suppression (intelligent sound recording that focuses on the sound of the object and dampens the surrounding noise)
With Intel Evo, Intel also provides easy connection of various devices to PCs and laptops, both for sharing photos and messages and UX experiences without obstacles between devices. For the first time, Intel is giving intel evo for folding screen laptop designs and H Gen series processors. 12.
